Mexico City has beautiful buildings. During the reign of Porfirio Diaz, obsessed with France, he implemented their architectural design (Bellas Artes, Museo Nacional del Arte, etc.). San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, is also a good place to visit see baroque buildings. Merida, Yucatan, is starting to be a reference for modern colonial/artisanal style homes. There is a YouTube channel called "Open Plan" that shows modern Mexican architecture if you are interested in visiting some of the houses shown there.

Greetings from Mexico :) I hope you enjoy your trip if you decide to come visit someday.

Excellent choices that are slated for the future, thank you again Zoe!

I also would recommend taking a look at the Russel and Mary Wright Studio in Putnam County NY. Very early Mid Century, yet carries the aesthetic design and simplicity.

If you visit Arizona, there’s a giant meteor crater just outside of Flagstaff where FLW was hired to design a museum (and the sketches look awesome). But they went with someone else because:

“He designed a radical structure symbolizing a meteorite striking the Earth. Unfortunately, it presented an enormous engineering challenge because on impact the actual meteorite had pulverized the surrounding rock, making it extremely difficult to build a strong foundation.”

I’ve seen the big duck in a bunch of photos and had no idea it was so close to me. Weird small destinations like that are the best.

Reading this from Mexico City! The amount of modernist and interesting contemporary architecture here, not even including Barragán, was really surprising to me. One can spend over a week here just on this.

If you’re heading to Palm Springs. I stayed in The JW Marriott in Palm Desert and discovered it was designed by Edward Killingsworth.

The interior has been gutted unfortunately but the property is huge and worth a walk and appreciation of his work

Columbus is severely underrated as an architecture icon. If you're making the trip out there, you ought to swing by Louisville too since there's a number of modernist houses that are of interest in the region too.
